RacingLine’s Higher-Output Ignition Coils deliver greater energy output, ensuring a stronger and more consistent spark. A simple plug-and-play upgrade over the OE factory coils.
Now these new Higher-Output Ignition Coils cover the older generation TFSI, TSI & FSI engines in multiple applications: 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 V6 SC, 4.2 V8 & 5.2 V10 sizes – typically produced between 2005-2017.
Of the many applications with these engines, the most popular fitments include Golf mk5 GTI, mk6 GTI, mk6 R, Audi S3 & RS3/TTRS 8P, Audi S4/S5 & RS4/RS5 B8 and many more.
The RacingLine Higher-Output Ignition Coils are a direct plug-and-play upgrade from the OE ignition coils. Whether an engine is standard or Stage 3 tuned, it will immediately benefit from the greater energy output and stronger, more consistent spark generated by a set of RacingLine Ignition Coil Packs.
The RacingLine Higher-Output Ignition Coils deliver a 10% increase in output energy versus OE. This greater output is perfect for drivers looking to maximise output from either a stock or modified car.
Why have we settled on a 10% gain in output energy for our Coil Packs? Because this is the optimum increase level for VWG’s TFSI, TSI & FSI engines. Beyond this level, no additional benefit is gained, yet the coil’s internal temperatures begin to rise sharply.
So at this level, our Coil Packs can maintain coil voltage under load with little or no drop-off, performing consistently from idle through to the shift point or red-line.
Replacement is all the more worthwhile on older engines still running the OE Coil Packs. A new set makes a great preventative maintenance upgrade to avoid the risk of misfires caused as the OE Coil Packs age and gradually break down.
Fitment couldn’t be an easier. These are a simple plug and play replacement. Remove the OE Coil Packs, replace with our Higher-Output versions

Can I return a product after install?
Once a product has been installed, used or fitted it is no longer returnable.
How long do I have to return a product?
Customers have 7 days inclusive from the day they receive their order to lodge a “Return Request” with ModsDirect. If the return form is approved (notification by email) the item must then be returned within 21 days. All returns must be trackable.
Please note that exchanges, refunds or credits will NOT be processed until the returned product(s) is received by ModsDirect.
Where do items need to be returned to?
After submitting a “Return Request” form, ModsDirect will be in touch via email to confirm details for return.
How do I return items?
All returns must be returned to ModsDirect by courier or post. All returns must be trackable. In some instances, ModsDirect may offer a return label.
What about restocking fees?
All returns will incur a fee of 15%. This is to cover fees incurred by ModsDirect for payment processing and handling. We are at the mercy of paying for services used at our website regardless of whether the order remains completed or reversed.
Who pays for return shipping?
All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. However, if a customer has received the incorrect product, ModsDirect will cover return fees and provide a courier pickup at no cost to the customer.
Exchange, Credit or Refund?
If a customer requests a return, they may be eligible for either an exchange, credit or refund based on the nature of the return and product availability. If refunding, moneys will be returned to the customer via the original payment gateway used at checkout.
Can I drop a return off to ModsDirect?
Sorry, no in-store return option is presently available.
I damaged the packaging during unboxing, can I still return?
Unfortunately not. All packing materials must be in resalable condition for a return. Some minor damages such as a neat cut of a package seal may still be eligible for return. Please include a photo of the packaging with your Return Request form.
